Job Role: Nurse Residency (Inpatient Care Unit)

We are excited to offer an enriching Nurse Residency program within our Inpatient Care Unit, designed to support newly licensed nurses in their transition from nursing school to professional practice. As a Nurse Resident, you will work closely with experienced nursing mentors and interdisciplinary teams to develop your clinical skills, enhance your knowledge, and provide exceptional patient care.

   Participate in a comprehensive orientation program to become familiar with the unit’s policies, procedures, and state-of-the-art equipment.

   Learn and apply evidence-based nursing practices under the guidance and mentorship of seasoned nurses.

   Monitor and assess patients’ conditions, providing timely interventions as necessary and reporting changes to the healthcare team.

   Administer medications and treatments in adherence to the hospital’s medication policies and protocols.

   Document patient care activities accurately and comprehensively in electronic medical records.

   Engage in regular debriefing and learning sessions with nurse mentors to review clinical experiences and receive feedback for professional growth.

   Develop strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team.

   Demonstrate empathy, compassion, and professionalism in all interactions with patients and their families.

   Comply with infection control protocols and maintain a safe and clean patient care environment.

   Adhere to ethical standards and confidentiality guidelines in patient care and information handling.

   A genuine passion for patient care and a commitment to pursuing excellence in nursing practice.

   Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

   Strong organizational and time management abilities to prioritize and manage multiple patient needs effectively.

   Eagerness to learn, grow, and actively participate in the Nurse Residency program’s educational opportunities.

   Good problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and clinical judgment to make sound decisions in patient care.

   Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems or a willingness to learn the hospital’s EHR system.

   Willingness to work in a rotating shift schedule, including weekends and holidays, as required by the unit’s staffing needs.

   Current CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certification or willingness to obtain it before the start of the residency program.
